Who we are

This website is operated by Angela Snowden, trading as Editions Editing, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Editions Editing is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@editionsediting.com .

What we collect

If you use the contact form on this site, we collect your first name, last name, email address, the subject line and the content of your message. If you email us directly, we collect whatever information you choose to include.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Browsing this site anonymously does not require you to give us any personal data.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use the information you send solely to read and respond to your enquiry and, where it leads to work, to carry out that work and keep in touch about it.

Our lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract — and, for general enquiries that do not lead to work, Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries no longer than necessary. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once the conversation has ended. Where an enquiry leads to a commission, correspondence is kept for the duration of the project and for as long as we need it for our records and legal or tax obligations, then deleted.

Who else sees it

Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to our email inbox using a third-party email delivery provider acting as our processor, and are then held in our email provider's systems. These providers process the data on our instructions only.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless we are required to by law.

Cookies and storage

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so no cookie consent banner is needed. The only browser storage used is a sign-in session for the site's private administration area, which is strictly necessary for that area to work and is not used by ordinary visitors.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can exercise any of these rights by emailing hello@editionsediting.com . We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
